Dr Dewald Koen’s research interest is embedded between Education and the Humanities with special emphasis on Afrikaans language and literature. His subject-specific interests include Afrikaans youth literature, comparative literature (Afrikaans, English and Dutch), ecocriticism, and Afrikaans pedagogy in the Intersen and FET-phase.
Presently he has the capacity to cosupervise three MEd students. He is comfortable with the qualitative research methodology. Students who prefer to write their dissertation in Afrikaans, are also welcome to apply.
