Studying for your teaching degree in the School for Initial Teacher Education at South Campus and/or Missionvale Campus provides the opportunity to meet and work with students from other teaching specialisations and from other faculties, to connect with academic staff as teachers and researchers, to use the first class facilities and to enjoy the rigour of intellectual discipline in a relaxed atmosphere.

School leavers can register for a 4-year undergraduate degree programme in one of three areas: the Foundation Phase (Grades R-3); the Intermediate Phase (Grades 4-6) Maths or Languages and the FET Band (Grades 10 -12).

Graduates can obtain a professional teaching qualification via a one-year full time post-graduate certificate (PGCE) that will prepare them as FET specialists in two or more subjects.
